An officer told TOI that UAPA Section 16 (Punishment for terrorist act) was invoked against Saifi. SIT invoked UAPA after questioning Saifi for nine days and collecting elaborate information on his background, social media activity and links at Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi. SIT will produce him before Kozhikode JFCM court on Tuesday.
